Laser Therapy
What is laser therapy?
Laser therapy (also called photobiomodulation) is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses light energy to support the body’s natural healing. It can help reduce discomfort, calm inflammation, and encourage tissue repair.
Book a Laser Therapy consultWe use a Class IV therapeutic laser. Most pets feel a mild warmth and find it soothing — many relax so much they nearly fall asleep. Sessions are relatively short and can be easily combined with physiotherapy or hydrotherapy.
How laser therapy can help
Laser therapy may help to:
- Reduce pain and inflammation in joints and soft tissues
- Support healing after surgery or injury
- Relax tight, sore muscles
- Improve comfort and mobility in older pets
- Support recovery in long-term or stubborn conditions
When laser therapy is useful
It can be helpful for:
- Arthritis and joint wear-and-tear
- Post-operative recovery
- Sprains, strains, tendon or muscle injuries
- Wounds, pressure sores, lick granulomas
- Spinal or disc-related issues
- Chronic stiffness in senior pets
What to expect
Most sessions take 15-30 minutes, depending on the areas being treated (although can be longer if combined with other treatments). Plans are tailored, and following a ‘loading dose’ we adjust frequency as your pet improves.
Many pets show visible improvement after just a few sessions, walking more comfortably, getting up more easily, or showing greater enthusiasm for play.
